THE TEN COMMANDMENTS
From The Grail Message
The Tenth Commandment:
You should not covet your neighbour's house, nor his wife, nor his cattle, nor anything that is his!
Anyone who seeks to gain profit through honest work and honest trade can, at the time of the great reckoning, calmly await the call of this Commandment, for it will pass him by without striking him. It is actually so easy to fulfil all the Commandments, and yet ... just take a good look at all people and you will soon realize that even this observance of the Commandment, which is actually quite natural for a human being ... does not happen, or only very rarely, and then not with joy but only with much effort.
Like an insatiable desire, it races over all people, whether white, yellow, brown, black or red, to envy one’s fellow neighbour for what he himself does not possess. Or, to put it even better: to envy him everything! In this envy already lies the forbidden desire! The transgression of the Commandment is thus already complete and becomes the root of many evils that quickly lead people to a fall, from which they often never rise again.
Strangely enough, the average person rarely appreciates what he calls his own, but always only what he does not yet possess. Darkness eagerly scattered desire, and unfortunately the human souls gave themselves up all too willingly to create the most fertile soil for the sad seed. Thus, over time, the desire for the possession of others became fundamental to all action and endeavours among the greater part of humanity. Starting with a simple wish, it increased through cunning and the art of persuasion to boundless envy, constant dissatisfaction and blind hatred.
Any path to satisfaction was just about considered right, if it was not too obviously opposed to earthly laws. God’s Commandment remained unheeded in the growing greed for gain! Everyone believed they were truly honourable as long as they were not called to account by the earthly court. Avoiding this, however, did not cost them much trouble; for they used the utmost caution and the keenest sagacity of mind when it was their intention to ruthlessly harm their fellow-men as soon as it became necessary in order to gain some cheap advantage. They did not consider that in reality, this would cost them far more than all earthly means could muster! So-called cleverness became the trump card! Cleverness in today's terms, however, is in itself nothing more than the flowering of cunning, or a heightening of it. It remains strange that a cunning person is met with distrust by everyone, who, however, is respectful of a clever person! The general basic attitude produces absurdity. The cunning man is an amateur in the art of the satisfaction of his desire, while the clever ones become masters at it. The cunning man cannot clothe his wants in beautiful forms, and reaps only pitying contempt for it. But the most envious admiration springs up from souls that pay homage to the same inclination! Envy in this too, because on the soil of mankind today even admiration of the same kind cannot exist without envy. People are ignorant of this strong driving force behind the many evils; they no longer even realize that this envy in its many forms dominates and guides all their thoughts and actions at the present time! It sits in individuals as well as in entire nations, guides states, begets wars as well as political parties, and eternal disputes wherever even two persons have to discuss something!
Where is obedience to the tenth Commandment of God, one would like to warn the states! In the most merciless desire each of the earthly states strives only for the possession of the other! They do not shy away from the murder of individuals, nor do they recoil from mass murder, not even from the enslavement of entire peoples, only to use it to elevate themselves to greatness. The beautiful speeches about self-preservation or self-defence are only cowardly excuses, because they themselves clearly feel that something must be said to somewhat mitigate and to excuse these monstrous crimes against the Commandments of God!
But it is of no use to them, for inexorable is the stylus which engraves the non-observance of God’s Commandments in the book of world affairs, and unbreakable are the karmic-threads which are tied to each individual, so that not even the slightest stirring of his thinking and doing can be lost without being redeemed!
Whoever can survey all these threads can see what a terrible judgment has now been conjured up! Confusion and the collapse of what has been built up to now are only the first slight consequences of this most disgraceful violation of the tenth Commandment of God! No one can be merciful to you once the whole impact begins to befall you more and more. You have not deserved it otherwise. What comes with it is only what you have forced upon yourselves!
Tear the impure desire completely out of your soul! Consider that a state is only made up of individuals! Leave behind all envy and hatred of people who, in your opinion, possess much more than you do! There is a reason for that! But that you are incapable of recognizing the reason, you alone bear the entire blame for that, in that you have voluntarily forced upon yourselves the tremendous narrowing of your understanding, which appeared as the consequence of your unfortunate intellectual servitude, and which was not intended by God!
Whoever does not want to be satisfied with the position given to him through the effects of his own, self-created threads of karma in the new Kingdom of God here on earth, is also not worthy of being given the opportunity to relatively easily release old debts hanging over him and at the same time to mature spiritually, to find the way up to the homeland of all free spirits, where only light and joy prevail!
In the future, every dissatisfied person will be swept away inexorably as a useless disruptor of the long-desired peace, as an obstacle to healthy ascent! If, however, there is still a good seed in him, which strongly guarantees an early repentance, he will remain compelled by a new, earthly law for his own benefit and for his ultimate salvation until a realization arises in him of the unconditional rightness of the wise Divine Will; Correctness also for him, who up to now, from short-sightedness of his soul and out of self-willed stupidity, has only been able to recognize that the bed in which he now lies on earth was made for him alone as an unconditional consequence of his entire existence up to now, of several lives in the afterlife and also in earthly life, and is not the blind arbitrariness of a coincidence! He will finally realize that he needs for himself precisely that, and only that, which he has experienced and where he stands, also the conditions into which he was born with all that goes with it!
If he works diligently on himself, he will rise not only spiritually but also materially. However, if he wants to stubbornly force himself to take a different path, ruthlessly and to the detriment of his fellow human beings, this can never serve him to any true advantage.
He must not say that the understanding for this should and must be given to him by God, so that he follows it and changes himself therein! It is only presumption and a new sin if he expects or even demands that it should first be proven to him that he is in error with his view, so that he can believe, convinced of the contrary! It is he, he alone, who has made himself quite impossible for the understanding, and who deviated from the right path on which he stood initially! The possibilities of understanding were already given to him by God on the path he had prayed to be allowed to take! Now that he has grievously buried them in his own malicious self-will, God should then, as his servant, reopen this pit for him! Childish behaviour! It is precisely this presumption, this demand, that will now be most difficult for man, to atone for the blasphemies committed with it! I say to you: It is easier for every robber to be freed from guilt than for a human soul that dares to demand expectantly that God should make amends for man’s own and greatest guilt through a new gift of understanding. It is precisely that which man, in the most rebellious way against God’s Will, has loaded upon himself as the heaviest burden of sin!
It will be a hard struggle for the human souls before they will be able to detach themselves from the habitual transgressions of the tenth Commandment of God, that is, to change in the regard, in order to finally truly live according to it in thought, speech and action! But for all those who are unable to do so, suffering and destruction await them here on earth and in the afterlife!

* The ability to think creatively and to understand concepts depend on our awareness factor termed the subconscious mind. It is in the subconscious mind that all our mental processes take place – without consciousness. Every thought we generate immediately takes on a form that embodies the expression that gives meaning of the thought in the subconscious mind. As we conceive a thought, the subconscious mind accepts, affirms, and advances with certainty the suggestion it receives whether the reciprocation is good or bad. As the edifice of order, judgement and reciprocity, therefore, the subconscious mind is responsible for the internal programming that forms our beliefs, memories of experience, judgments and habits; in other words, it forms our mindset.
